Musings from a teller of tales
Welcome to my little piece of the
web. Whether you found me by accident, or you read my book and
wanted to check me out, I am glad that you are here. If you've
come this far, perhaps you'll follow a bit further. Come inside my
mind, but be sure and take my hand, it is a bit dark ahead. Most
things in here won't hurt you, but there are a few dark corners we should
avoid.
I am often asked for advice on writing, and though I feel
under-qualified to bestow any wisdom, great or otherwise, I find myself,
nonetheless, trying to offer some insight. First and foremost, as
any writer will tell you, is the writing itself. You must write to
have written, it is that simple. Write when you are angry, rushed, lethargic,
and sad. And when you are none of those, Write!
A great writer once told me that there was no such thing as writer's
block. Only days when the words don't come quite so easily.
Determination and tenacity will always win out in a battle with the
keyboard. If you have always wanted to write, but can't seem to find
the time, then you don't want to write. There is a feeling deep
inside a writer that can only be expressed through the fingers onto a
keyboard, or through a pen onto paper. Ask any writer who has given
more than a cursory attempt at the craft, they'll tell you that it is
worth the effort.
